50

- Do you want to learn English faster?

Pay close attention, my friend

because my number one tip is going to get you improving

your English speaking faster than a politician forgets

his promises after election day.

(upbeat music)

Hello, I'm Julian Northbrook

from doingenglish.com here to help you,

the intermediate to advanced English learner

speak extraordinary English

with less stress, less hassle

and fewer of those God damn headaches.

So, you wanna learn English faster

and get better at speaking the language quickly.

Cool, well, do I have a tip for you, my friend.

But before I impart these words of wisdom upon you,

before I share this tip with you,

I have to warn you,

this tip, powerful though it is,

it's not cool,

it's not flashy,

it's not exciting,

it's not sexy,

it's not gonna get 10,000 likes on this video

and it ain't gonna go viral on Facebook.

But

I should be charging you

at least £100,

no, £1,000

just to watch this video

because I know

that if you take this one simple tip,

implement it, apply it to your English learning,

you will improve your English speaking faster

than you ever thought possible.

Do you wanna know what this extraordinary tip is?

Do you really?

Cool, here we go.

What I want you to do is this.

This evening I want you to take it easy.

Relax.

Don't drink too much,

don't go out partying all night,

just take it easy and relax.

Set your alarm clock for 5 a.m. tomorrow.

Now get an early night

'cause when that bad boy rings tomorrow morning,

you're gonna get up

at 5 a.m., you're gonna make a cup of coffee

and you are gonna sit down

and study spoken conversational English intensively

for one hour.

Hold all that language,

all that English you've just learned in your head

and practise it throughout the day.

Whether you use English in business,

and you're speaking English at work,

and you are practising with real people,

try and use that language you've just learned.

Whether you live in an English-speaking country

and you're speaking English day to day

or going to university or school in English,

try to use that language

that you've just learned during the day

as much as you can.

If you are learning and practising English alone

and don't know how to do that,

don't worry, 'cause that is the topic of tomorrow's video,

how to practise English alone.

And now all you're gonna do

is repeat this process every single day.

In order to master English,

in order to improve your English speaking

to speak English extraordinarily well,

two things have to happen repetitively.

Input, output, repeat.

Input, output, repeat.

Learn the language, practise the fluency, repeat.

These two steps

are both essential.

By spending a whole hour every morning

every day learning the language,

you are putting plenty of stuff in here.

By doing it every day,

you are doing it repetitively.

By getting up and doing it early in the morning,

you are giving yourself the entire day

to practise that language

and to fix it in long-term memory.

Remember, just learning isn't enough.

You have to learn and then shift that over

into long-term memory to hard code it

as active language

that you can actually use.

Check this video for more on that

if you missed it.

Now, look, if you don't want to go bed to early

and get up at 5 a.m. to get this stuff done,

then English, improving your speaking

obviously isn't that important to you,

so just don't bother, forget about it,

go find something else to do with your time

but if you are serious about wanting to learn English fast

to get really good at speaking the language

in record time,

then this is the way to do it

but remember, improving your English speaking

is a waste of time

if you don't have the confidence

to get out there into the real world

and use your English in situations

where you can and should be speaking the language.

If confidence is a problem for you,

if you constantly feel embarrassed about your English,

you are paralysed by fear

and terrified of making mistakes, don't worry,

that's where my book Fearless Fluency,

Speak Extraordinarily Confident English comes in.

This book will walk you

through the confident English speaker's mindset,

why you feel the fears that you fear

and importantly, how to overcome those fears

so that you can get out there into the real world,

speak confident English

without feeling embarrassed, without being paralysed by fear

and feeling terrified of making mistakes

every time you utter a word in the language.

It's available on Kindle

where you can read the first bit for free.

It comes with a complete downloadable audio version

so that you can read the book, listen to the book,

listen as you read,

whatever it is that you want to do

and if you've got that Kindle Unlimited thing,

you can even read the whole book for read

and yes, you still get the audio version.
