Welcome to EnglishMeeting.com campus uptake for today.

My name is Dave Sconda here's what's happening.

Current news use the Val sound i is causing problems around the world.

Mum people are confused sometimes irritated, annoyed fortunately through international research from top scholars and our work on Mars we have devised a cure. Yes there is hope you will become strong, faster, smarter, more attractive

or

maybe you will just improve your pronunciation yeah that's it no more just pronunciation mmm.

/i/ international phonetic symbol

Okay iiii you've got a smile real big when you practice this you can never be sad when you practice.

Iii

Here's some common mistakes

Deep not dip

Feet not fit

Keep not kip

I want to kept it.

No there's no word care stretcher mouth and the sound keep.

I want to keep it.

Then people will know what you mean what you're trying to say here's some more

meet not met

neat not nit

seat not sit

If you say nice to met you nice to met you.

No it's not nice to met here because there's no word met it's nice to meet.

Nice to meet you well what's going on Hooow

Hi okay now let's try the sound at the beginning of the word so let's start with

each

Each not age edge. I would like each one. I would each one is terrific not pitch.

Which one is good.

No then we have

eat

Eat I would like to eat that good food with you.

Not it.

I like to at it. No it's not gonna work but I think you got it.

Good, good, good see you later by, by.

Okay, so now we're going to try it at the middle of word.

The first word is:

Please.

Not place anyplace place no pleeeeese.

Then leave, leave.

Please don't leave me, not live

Are you going to let mmm

Are you going to leave?

That's pretty good but please don't leave me.

Are you leaving me?

Where you going?

You going somewhere hey back, come back, come back don't, don't, don't leave this

sound at the end of word

Home I bet ooo here we go low

I was wild okay now what we're gonna do

Is sentences and the sentences are so important because that's what conversations speaking is all about.

Okay so here we go

I want to greet her politely when we meet next week

No be wrong to say I want to grab her politely when we met next week

I as a native speaker English I'd be like

mmm

I'm not quite sure what it is said there.

Okay here's another one

I want to keep my feet very strong.

Now that's a strange thing to say but it's good for practice.

I want to keep my feet very strong.

Not I wanna kept my fate very strong.

Would be confusing.

Okay here we go another sentence here.

That idea is very deep.

Wow I need to take a seat.

Okay that idea is very deep.

Wow I need to take a seat not that idea is very debt.

Well I made to take a set gonna be so good that way.

But you know that right you do know that I hope you know that.

Okay I'm back

I'm kinda boxed in here but I think I'll be all right.

Don't forget to exaggerate when you practice.

I remember we're changing the human mind.

Human mind doesn't want to change but if you exaggerate it's gonna make up more of a strong impact on your mind.

Take what you've learned and use it in conversation.

This is key - real practice.

Okay you can do many things. You can do language exchange, join a group.

I don't know, a book club, exercise group, invite someone for coffee, for tee, have a drink, have a martini.

I offer to help someone you know who speaks English nothing wrong with helping somebody.

Many ways to do this, many ways. Just don't worry or feel embarrassed if you make a mistake or if you misunderstand something.

That's part of the language learning process.

If you make a mistake, just laugh at yourself.

Enjoy your life and keep try.

Okay I'm Dave Sconda I'll see you next time.

Bye, bye!

See you I think I'm going.

Am I leaving now?

I don't know, ooo here I go ooo by, by.

That is some cool stuff well that's all the time we have for today.

Thanks for joining us for this edition of campus update.

I'm Marcus Allen. We'll see you next time.
